1. This is what Mike had done on the evening I arrived. It was late so I
went to bed.
2. I installed the header lexan and started the doors.
3. Mike was busy painting the tail feathers.
4. We installed the gap cover and windshield.
5. I cut out the access panel. in the nose cone. Makes working
inside the nose cone much less of a hassle.
6. I built a 3rd. door on Mikes Challenger. I added this to my
Challenger this winter, If you got bad knees this is the only way to
go.
7. Here we are starting on the fabric.
8. Mike sanding the nose.
9. Here you can see the fabric is half on.
10. The fabric is on and we can start painting...good old house
paint! Easy on, easy to repair, and easy on the environment. And Lindy
didn't mind the smell in the house quite as much.
11. The paint is on and looking good. The wings will be the same
yellow as is on the tail.
12. Nice panel. Real wood.
13. Here you can see what the doors look like before and after the
tape is added. Makes the doors look more finished.
14.Well his is where we were when I had to leave for
Illinois and home, an eerie place, We
got a bunch done in 5 days and I will be back to finish and fly this
little beauty!
Thanks
Lindy and Mike! I had a great time and look forward to coming back for
the finish up and test flight. Jim, at an Erie place. |
